Shatta Wale has set the records straight by disclosing that he is not that artist who is into BET.
The Shatta Movement boss – Shatta Wale has disclosed that he is not that artist who is into Black Entertainment Television Awards (BET).
According to him, if Ghanaians are to see his efforts and say they want to push him to that prestigious award, then it will be cool.
He also said he sees BET as no special award because he has also got IRAWMA which is the biggest in the Reggae/Dancehall game in his archives.
Shatta Wale further explained that as a dancehall artiste, BET awards or nomination shouldn’t be his focus because it focuses on hip-life artistes like Sarkodie among others.

Shatta told Nana Ama Mcbrown:
”Ghanaians like that too much! If you don’t get a BET award, they discredit every other award you get which shouldn’t be so. My brother Stonebwoy and I should be focused on IRAWMA Awards because it celebrates African dancehall artistes across the globe.
”See let me tell you this, the BET is dominated by Hip Hop and RnB artistes and I will always pick the IRAWMA over it because its the only award scheme that celebrates dancehall artistes.”
