Rapper Drake wins a whopping $1m after he placed a bet on Nigeria’s UFC Champion Israel Adesanya’s fight

Drake is one of the richest rappers in the world and he just augmented his status by becoming $1m richer after Nigerian-born New Zealand professional Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) Israel Mobolaji Adesanya won against Jared Cannonier at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Adesanya reportedly recorded a unanimous decision victory against Cannonier after five rounds in the octagon.

Ahead of the crunch fight Drake whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham made a huge bet on him and he made him proud with his well-deserved victory.

The commercially Successful rapper had facetime with Adesanya before the fight to wish him good luck and remind him that his money is on him to win.

“Bro, I already know what time it is,” Drake could be heard saying. “You know, I put a light million up.” When Adesanya balked at the number, he responded that it was “a light mil,”. “I had to put a light mil on my brother,” he added. “Return on investment is a lock.”

I just want to wish you good luck,” he added later during the call. “You know I love you, brother. You’re different. You’re a different guy, bro. I have a deep, deep, deep love and respect for you. A deep love and respect.

The win came as a huge relief to Drake who has previously lost all his money in previous sporting games he has placed his bet on including Manchester City’s Champions League loss to Tottenham Hotspur in 2019.
